Khonsu, strengthen the tide
Depths of regret and pride—
Some ships floundered in the shoal
Strayed from a path
Never told,
But the light did lead you through the night
And kept you from others’ plight.
No danger, often,
You saw there,
But over gales of peril and squander
I cried to you
“Beware!”
‘Gainst the siren’s snare
I saw no oasis there—
Now on bloodied waters gleam
A Morphean tapestry of dreams
They scream
Of words of safety, words of love
I called to you once
Up above
Lost in Set’s great lie
I—
Called your name
Loud as I could,
Gave you all the light that I am,
Lit the rocks
So that you would not stumble
Yet I watched,
As the gales of terror tormented
Your tired tired sails,
Blew them into jeopardy
So far
From Shai’s charted course
And finally,
On weary wings,
After too long looking
For a place of safety
Fell—
Into the unforgiving waters of Nun
Whilst I could do all but stand there
Rooted,
As my hand of light reached
Across the sea in vain
For you who had lost your way.
