Create a meme on a Classical theme
You can base your design on ANY aspect of the Classical world - mythology, history, literature, theatre, art, archaeology, or anything else that inspires you!
You can enter in teams of 1–2 people, but everyone in the team must be in the same age category:
11-13
14-16
17-18
Here are two sample entries by talented artist (and former Ancient and Modern History student) Anna Payman.
Yours doesn't need to look like these - just use them as inspiration.
We are happy for you to use AI (if necessary) for individual elements,
but the overall idea and design of the meme must be entirely your own.
Ten winning entries will be chosen from each age category.
Each team member will receive a £50 gift token and the winning memes will be posted on the Faculty of Classics website and on all of our social media feeds!
Make sure that your team's entry is no more than 1 page and email it to us at outreachcompetition@classics.ox.ac.uk.
Send your meme as an attachment to the email, or simply send us a good clear photo of your creation. Remember that we'll be posting them online, so send the best quality image that you can. Don't send anything that needs a password or is stored on your personal drive because we won't be able to open them. Just attach your meme to the email.
Only include your names, ages and a single contact email. Don't include these on the meme itself because they'll be judged anonymously.
The last date for entry is Sunday 24 May and entries **absolutely, definitely** won't be accepted after this date.
Please note that although anyone can enter, we can only send gift tokens to addresses in the UK.
